Substrate is a top-down puzzle adventure where every action reshapes the terrain beneath your feet. Nothing changes without consequence.

The deeper you go, the less certain you are that you should be here at all.r it becomes: they are the problem.

GAMEPLAY

The world is a grid of living tiles. Inject one and the landscape shifts. Eject another and a path closes. Bridges form, ecosystems break, hidden systems stir.

Every puzzle is a question about what the world is actually for, and whether fixing it was ever the right idea.

ROADMAP

Substrate is in active development at Felt Games, an independent studio founded in London in 2026.

The project is currently in prototype and validation, supported by a small team of developers and artists.

We are pursuing funding support to complete the core mechanic, lock the art direction and prepare a commercial demo for Steam.

Our Story

Felt Games is an independent game studio founded by David Calvet, a London-based creative technologist, game designer and technical director with 13+ years of experience across games, XR, animation and interactive media.

David’s work sits at the meeting point of technology, visual craft and player experience. He has shipped 10+ interactive and XR applications with studios including Baobab Studios, Fable Studio, Wildermage Games, Disnosc and Atelier Daruma, leading projects across mobile, VR, AR, interactive theatre and full-room multiplayer.

Before Felt Games, David built his practice through Greysize, his London-based XR and real-time production studio, and Abstractoy, co-founded with Paul Torris around Beatstrikers, an action-packed fighting/rhythm game.

These years shaped Felt Games’ foundation: hands-on production, real-time technical craft, and a strong instinct for player and audience experience.

Felt Games was created to focus that experience into a more precise form: compact, premium games with elegant mechanics, distinctive worlds and emotional depth.

We work small by design.

The studio is built around hands-on craft, careful scope and trusted collaborators, scaling only when the project needs it. This allows us to move quickly, protect the identity of each project, and keep production focused on what makes the game feel special.

Our goal is to make games that feel tactile, memorable and emotionally resonant : small worlds to explore, puzzles to solve, and quiet stories to uncover.
